Mrs. Eugene Shook bought the house and property in 1916, she lived there until 1935. She sold it to Julius and Anna Haske. They rented it out for a couple years.
In 1937 (approx), Julius' daughter Helen & her husband Lloyd Craig remodeled the house and made it into a tavern and named it "The Wayside Inn". (It was named this for 55 years).
Lloyd died years later and sold the business to John Lewis in 1952 (approx). John sold it to Mary Benson in the 1950"s. On Mary's wedding night her husband was killed in an auto accident, soon after she sold the business to Bill Stout (1960 approx)
Bill sold out in the late 1970's to Jane VanPopplen, she ran it until her death, her son Barry ran it until his death. Bill Stout got "The Wayside Inn" back and sold it in 1992 to Shelly Hayward. She completely remodeled the building, she also renamed the business to "Chances R". Shelly sold out to Mary Mendky in 1996. Mary also changed the name to "Trackside". Mary runs "Trackside" as of this date. May 6th, 2020.
